Rehabilitation Systems offers a live, web-based rehabilitation training program for people with cancer, heart failure, lung disease, and diabetes – aimed at providing a pathway to increased independence, skills for living, and quality of life. The evidence-based, 12-session telemedicine training programs are delivered via Fuze Meeting. Rehabilitation Systems was founded in April 2008 and our initial focus was to train physical and occupational therapists to deliver specialized, on-site rehabilitation therapy to patients suffering from cancer, diabetes, pulmonary disease, and heart failure. But we noticed right away that many potential patients were slipping through the cracks. We found that upwards of 50% of patients who could greatly benefit from rehabilitation therapy were not able to access restorative care, because they could not travel to on-site locations.
